More about the restaurant:
Beautiful shop location opening up to the lovely promenade and beach. The swing-like seats dominate its store front (perhaps just a bit too much to make entry and exit a bit of a squeeze between furniture for any average person). I would not have set a long row seats perpendicular to the promenade though. It felt a little hidden from all the beach action. My choice of layout would have been parallel to the promenade with a dimmed mirror towards the inside, with other bits and pieces to fancy it up and lessen the glare.
Onto the food, the bacon and lentil soup was passable but certainly not something to commend. The bread which came with it was toasted (good) and chewy (bad, especially when it's meant to have been toasted). The pizza… the basil (which tasted fresh), meatball and cheese all felt very ‘added on’ and none really fused together as one pizza. I felt I could’ve done better at home. But then again, I just had an excellent pizza the other day at Mercato. And just don’t even start comparing the meatballs. So perhaps my expectations were too high.
Think I’d stick to other options next time.
