Although it has been a long time ago, I still couldn't forget about the unhappy incident in this restaurant.I had lived in Sai Wan for more than 20 years, I had gone to Sai Ying Pun Ka Kee but not this one.That day, I ate alone. After getting seated, I called the waiters to have order, I asked how big the dish were since I was eating alone. At this moment, a group of 4 people entered. The waiters didn't serve me and asked the 4 people to sit with me, actually I didn't mind as I was alone, but

That day, I ate alone. After getting seated, I called the waiters to have order, I asked how big the dish were since I was eating alone. At this moment, a group of 4 people entered. The waiters didn't serve me and asked the 4 people to sit with me, actually I didn't mind as I was alone, but there were ONLY 4 seats, I occupied one already, how could those 4 people got occupied???
The waiters asked them to sit still (without adding extra seats), of course, this is a very easy Maths calculation. 4 seats, 4 people standing, 1 person sitting (me), how could this be? Those 4 people standing and I were very embarrased. They asked, 'Miss, excuse me, I really didn't understand, they asked us to sit, but you came first, how could this be?'
Even we asked the man in-charge, he didn't serve them, just see them standing near me, of course, no one serve me as well (no one came and took my food order)
At last, I gave up my seats without eating to them, those 4 people ,of course, felt very sorry, but it was not their fault. It was because of poor service.
I haven't been a customer being 'expelled' without having a chance to order/eat in such a way. I think if it was very busy time, the manager could ask me whether I mind 4 people eating with me and ADD EXTRA SEATS to them/me. But not asking them to sit / stand without getting enough chairs.
I will never go to this restaurant again in my life... not even the Sai Ying Pun branch.
