Went driving around on a free Sunday with my gf and chose to dine at 金壘餐廳! It's an old establishment where the locals and nearby soldiers go for some nice western food. Although the interior decor has been refurbished, you can still feel the classic ambience within. First, we ordered a set lunch which includes the salad, rack of ribs and a drink. First, we ordered a set lunch which includes the salad, rack of ribs and a drink. Since we heard that this place do nice pork knuckle so we decided to give it a try, there are 3 styles of cooking to choose: simmered with honey sauce, roasted and deep fried. We picked the simmering style with honey sauce plus a set option of soup and a drink.
The soup and salad was alright, no surprises except with the presentation of garlic bread which comes with a dim sum basket, nice touch here but the bread wasn't hot enough, bad touch here, haha!
The main courses are heavyweight indeed, the size is so big that I think we could actually share one between the two of us! The ribs was tasty and the pork knuckle was soft and juicy and goes nicely with the honey sauce, highly recommened!
The meal ended nicely with some tea and coffee and we will definitely come again sometimes to try their dinner buffet which runs from Monday to Friday!
