American Express had changes in their year round dining offers. The offer of 2 people getting 50% off the a la carte menu is no longer applicable to maxim's restaurant at weekends but they introduced deco group.  After shopping with my friend at IFC, we couldn't think of where to go for dinner so we went to try watermark given there is discount.We had a seafood platter for 2 and a steak. We had a seafood platter for 2 and a steak. The platter is high for 2 girls and the quality is okay.  Fresh and sweet!

The steak was good as well.  However, the location is not that convenient and the original prices are a bit too expensive.

It was a long trek to pier no. 7 from IFC and unfortunately the typhoon no. 3 signal was hoisted that night; the pelting rain made sure we got wet even with umbrellas. The decor was great, and we sat down at the table in full view of the harbour, it was so close that one could feel the pier rocking slightly when ships passed by. The decor was great, and we sat down at the table in full view of the harbour, it was so close that one could feel the pier rocking slightly when ships passed by. Later when the rain stopped, the night view was magnificent. 
We started off with a jar of white dynasty sangria which consisted of lychee, strawberries, raspberries and brandy - it was fruity, not too sweet and went well with the seafood platter. This was certainly not stingy as there was enough to go around for the three of us and I had oysters, clams, mussels, shrimps, whelks, scallops, smoked salmon, crab pincers and lobsters. Overall the seafood was appropriately fresh but not astounding, and the crabs were a bit over-frozen. The scallops were seasoned with a tinge of sweetness, which was rather unique. The smoked salmon was fresh and not too salty but was poorly displayed underneath the platter - all of us sounded the query "is this edible?" 
The main dishes were satisfactory; the grilled salmon was fresh, rich and suitably seasoned (I really disliked the liberty some chefs took with salt in grilled salmon). The skin was crispy, though the adornments were somewhat "nondescript" as potatoes. We had the striplion done medium rare, but even that was slightly too well done. The prawn and lobster rigatoni was the best among these, the pasta was al dente and went well with tomato sauce, yet it was too strong for the seafood and overshadowed the prawns and lobsters. 
Nothing spectacular about the desserts; there was a large dollop of not-too-thawed whipped cream sitting atop the molten chocolate pie - this made it hard to eat a mouthful of "pie with cream", rendering the chocolate too heavy and the mouthful of cream too bland when eaten apart. The citron cake was too "starchy" and heavy, the zest from orange and grapefruit slices did not help resurrect the dessert. 

The service was fairly good, and with the dining discount we had, this amounted to $640 per capita. Of course, if we had gone without alcohol, it would be less than $500 per head. Whether this is good value for money depends on if you think a great view redeems pricy food with so-so quality.

Environment & Service (5/10):Watermark is situated at the Central piers. It has a beautiful sea view, you should book early to get a window seat.The service on the other hand was not that great – the waiters don’t like it if you don’t order wine, are grumpy, and don’t explain the dishes at all.Lobster bisque (8/10):This lobster bisque didn't have too much alcohol in it like some other restaurants. This lobster bisque didn't have too much alcohol in it like some other restaurants. There was just enough so that the lobster taste still came through.

This platter included salmon caviar, salmon rilettes, salmon tartar. Everything was fresh and the portion was huge, definitely high value for money. I couldn’t stop eating the mini pancakes and potato salad too!

The mixed grill came with scallops, seabass, halibut, lobster (from left to right). All of the seafood was perfectly cooked. The seabass was flakey and very tasty. While it was relatively pricy, it was definately worth it.

The lamb was wonderfully seasoned and the meat tender. The mashed potatoes on the side were kind of bland but we were already pretty full, so it didn’t matter.

Presentation was great, but they put some kind of herb in this dessert which entirely ruined the taste. This was the only let-down of the night… but it could be just that I didn’t like this flavor. 

Overall (8/10):
Most of the food here was amazing. Portions were big, and seafood was perfectly cooked. With the AE discount it was also good value for money. 

I’d like to come again, but hopefully they train their staff better before my next visit.

I tried their dinner service before and I thought it was pretty decent. I would assume their brunch buffet should be worth a try as well. also looking a reviews from some members of this brunch, they were alright.i was wrong. I would like to point out with emphasis their the service was horrible. i was wrong. 

I would like to point out with emphasis their the service was horrible. All the waiters were busy chatting and doing their own Thing. it was kinda cold so I asked for warm water for my girlfriend and it took us 3 tries with the same person to get it. Also some of the food are cooked to order but they continuously getting our orders wrong. We got food ordered by the table next to us and they waiter just moved it directly to their table which pissed of the couple next to us.

the food choices are also very little. Their seafood bar had these un fresh shrimp which was disgusting. The legs of them are starting to blacken as well as the inside of the head. Mussels  and the whelk we're not fun as well. And no sauces provided, not even cocktail sauce just some lemon wedges. no oysters

pretty much I would say a 200 dollars buffet at a random restaurant is better.

the funny thing was, many other tables were complaining about the food and service, which the waiters did care.

i wonder how and why people gave them such a good review.

太太生日晚餐慕名第一次光顧. 頗有期望. 第一印象是 RECEPTION 無人, 幾pair客在門口等了好一陣子, 已扣了印象分!維港夜景很 impressive. 每人先點了頭盤及主菜加兩杯紅酒和一支礦泉水.頭盤分別係羊芝士撻和磨菇湯, 不過不失無驚喜!湯唔夠熱, 麵包只得兩小個, 唔好食,無得加也算罷了!主菜分別係 Slow Cook Roasted Pork Belly 及 10 oz Grill 西冷牛扒.Pork Belly 皮唔脆肉唔化兼有渣塊扒主動提議幫我地cut開兩塊分碟上,每件只得排九牌大小, 切得工工整整, 要medium rare 但起碼有七成熟, 而且有四份一係筋, 食唔到要一提這裡的侍應不太Pro. 如此食物及SERVICE 浪費了如此靚景和餐廳裝修!結果無信心再order甜品了. 決定轉場去香格里拉Lobster Bar 食dessert. 好在有Credit Card 食物50% off 優惠, 否則重唔低.No Next Time.

太太生日晚餐慕名第一次光顧. 頗有期望.

要一提這裡的侍應不太Pro. 

如此食物及SERVICE 浪費了如此靚景和餐廳裝修!

結果無信心再order甜品了. 決定轉場去香格里拉Lobster Bar 食dessert. 

好在有Credit Card 食物50% off 優惠, 否則重唔低.

We had a party of 11 for Christmas lunch and the Weekend Buffet was what they laid on. Everything was 1st class - and the magic Coffin Bay oysters did not stop coming. The range of items is not as large as the big 5* hotels but you are not wrestling with the crowd either - the choices are more than adequate for a very enjoyable repast. The drink package at $190 ph is a very welcome bonus as the wine list while very very good does make the day a LOT more expensive. Service was impeccable, we'll b

I had this restaurant on my radar for a long time as I had noticed it while doing yoga on the pier public area.  Watermark is actually located at the end of Central Ferry Pier number 7.  A best kept secret is that you can actually walk along the public area surrounding the restaurant for free.  It is a very inspiring view to do yoga.  Given American Express Platinum just launched new discounts for 2014 and Watermak being on the list, I thought it was a perfect occasion to give it a try (50% discount for 2 pax table).  I must say that the venue and view of the Victoria harbour are extraordinary, but on the opposite, the food was unfortunately very ordinary.  The waiters are also quite aggressive to sell drinks and desserts, which is always one of my top pet peeves.

Hongkie: 好新鮮啊!少少creamy的感覺,肉身少少爽,蠔味不是超濃,正正減少咗我不太喜歡的蠔腥味道。

Gwailo: The Irish Giga are designed for those who enjoy creamy and rich oyster texture.  I was pleasurably surprised by the quality and freshness of the oysters served as well as the nice taste of the two sauces (i.e.: red wine vinegar with onions and cocktail sauce).

Poached Tiger Prawn with Vegetable Salad- Rating: 7 (Hongie:7.5, Gwailo: 6)
Hongkie: 個Buttermilk Dressing甜甜地幾好味,但係水份唔多,個人覺得可以落多d olive oil 會更好!不得不提嘅係salad入面嘅黃色蕃茄,甜到不得了!salad 同tiger prawn份量都幾多,兩個人share啱啱好。

Gwailo: I'll give it a pass simply because of the great quantity of prawns that were included.  The taste was plesant and fresh but it did not have anything special to offer.  Anyone can prepare such salad at home for a much more affordable price.

Watermark Mixed Grill- - Rating: 6.5 (Hongie:7, Gwailo: 6)
Hongkie: 有點失望的mixed grill,份量不大,兩個人share 未必夠飽。seabass d肉太"瘦",完全無creamy的感覺,魚味唔濃。件halibut亦無咩特別,味道比seabass 重d。龍蝦太乾身,特別係個鉗,一d都唔滑。最好食係個scallop, 外層燒烤味重,入面有少少生非常滑!

Gwailo: Again, I am giving a passing rate to this plate simply to recognise the good intentions of the chef.  The two fishes on the plate were tasteless, unsalted, and not crispy enough. The lobster tasted completely thawed.  The only highlights of this plate were the nicely cooked scallops and the new potatoes.  At HKD 758, I would give it a pass.

Hongkie: 有50%off 的價錢埋單還算ok, 我地就係有d不甘中咗招叫咗支水,比Gui 叫嘅啤酒仲要貴。 以這樣的價錢及食物質素,想睇靚景?有amex 的可以一試,否則我諗去格離個public space度picnic仲好


Gwailo: Because we had access to the American Express 50% discount, it was worth trying.   However, even with the rebate I still consider that it was an expensive price for the food that was served.  Nothing exceptional at all.  You basically pay for the view and location, but trust me, there are plentiful of establishments in Hong Kong that offer a similar view wth much better food.

上星期因為工作的關係,有晚到了中環的「Watermark」用膳。要數與「Watermark」的淵源,應該大概在兩年多前,那時朕在中環工作,與一大班同事來這裡午飯,那時一吃就愛上了它。後來與公關小姐相熟成為好友,就更常來晚膳,留下了不少開心的回憶,當日傾開,也覺得時光飛逝呢。這晚我䘖工作於娛樂,一於邊吃邊與記者談天。頭盤先來「Warm Goats Cheese Tart, Pickled Endive, Pear and Walnut Salad, Truffle Dressing」$128輕微騷香的羊奶芝士配甜的鮮啤梨及合桃沙津作晚餐的開始,健怡又不會淡茂茂,配合白餐酒不錯呢。「Pan Fried Foie Gras, Toasted Brioche, Red Onion Marmalade」$168鵝肝來自法國,我喜愛它的紅蔥頭果醬,加入了醋的成份,伴鵝肝吃可減輕油膩感,聰明。「Roasted Halibut, Artichoke and Rosemary with Fregola and Bacon」$278我一向喜歡此處的海鮮。這比目魚柳來自 Greenland,在經過一輪記者拍

我一向喜歡此處的海鮮。這比目魚柳來自 Greenland,在經過一輪記者拍照後已涼了,難得是完全不腥 (我是很怕腥的那類人),肉亦幼嫩。向大廚查詢,原來此魚是用熱的牛油不停淋在魚身上至剛熟,難怪肉質一點也不老。

用上 USDA 熟成12天的肉眼扒去烤至 medium rare。風乾熟成 (dry age) 的目的主要是令肉質產生蛋白酵素以軟化肌肉纖維,使肉質更變軟綿,肉味更濃。此肉眼的確牛味超濃,咬下去是感受到濃縮的肉汁,肉質柔嫰,炭火的燒烤亦令它非常香口,而且份量是多得連我們四個人也吃不下呢!

最後甜品有法式蛋白糖霜,配襯上嬌嫩慾滴的鮮士多啤梨,是較輕盈的甜點,整體也不覺膩。
其實我們的腦袋容量有限,記住開心的回憶就好了!:-)

Located at Pier 7 of the Star Ferry Terminal in Central, Watermark is packed with a lively jumbles of exclamation marks and impressive selling points. The restaurant is housed in the ferry terminal building overlooking the fantastic view of the harbor. The entrance of the restaurant was elegant and contemporary, furnished with a dark hallway surrounded by waterfalls that led to the reception area.

The interior of the restaurant was serenely and luxuriously spacious and peaceful. As you know a lot of restaurants in Hong Kong tended to cramp their seats together to utilize all the space. But not at Watermark. Privacy was almost guaranteed for us as we were separated with somewhat distance from the other diners. The gentle lighting and the high ceiling achieved a charismatic, comfortable and romantic ambiance, which was just perfect! We even got a window seat so that we could enjoy the superb night view. You will be gummed up with how stunning it looks at night.

You can't find this much "space" with a nice view in many restaurants in Hong Kong, and we felt Watermark is a restaurant of an entirely different calibre (at one point, we felt as if we were inside an upscale restaurant in Shanghai).  Meals here are on the more expensive side, a typical dinner costs around $600 to $700 per head.

(1) As we weren't that hungry, so we only ordered a Watermark Mixed Grill ($758) to share. The dish included Halibut, sea bass, 1/2 lobster, scallop, caramelized lemon, new potatoes. Although it was smaller than we expected, every single piece of food presented on the plate, including the potatoes, was completely delicious! The scallops had an adorable, chewy texture. The sauce just elevated its flavour further. The lobster was something to dash about as it was pleasantly moist and had a very fresh taste. The two fish were both finely cooked and gorgeously seasoned to our liking. We felt pretty full and satisfied afterwards.

(2) For desserts, D ordered a Dark Chocolate Liquid Tart ($75) served with Basil ice cream, star anise tuile, which definitely did not disappoint! The taste of the dark chocolate with the crunchy layer of the tart, mixed with the ice cream tasted delightful in the mouth.

(3) The birthday boy decided to try The Exotic ($75) which was the Chef's creation using seasonal fruits, including berries and lychee. The cake was layered with coconut, lychee and mango. It tasted surprisingly harmonious and equally as sweet and soothing.

It was a pleasant birthday dinner for C with a winsome atmosphere and equally winsome food. The service was polite and attentive, and the staff were really helpful with presenting the birthday dessert and singing the happy birthday song to C. We adored the lovable and impressive view. Even the food may be quite pricey, Watermark came across as a supremely understated restaurant that has a lot to offer and to discover and we were definitely blown away by the most comfortable and unique dining experience by the water!

近排先開始係 openrice 寫食評 ~ 雖然依餐已經食咗一輪, 但因為無論對佢個景同食物都留有好深刻既印象, 所以都要寫返篇食評留低個記錄* 頭盤味道唔錯, 而種類都係出面一般有既野; 而甜品有十零款又係一般種類如朱古力 mousse、cheese cake 等, 無咩特別所以相都無影相* 除咗出面枱既食物可以拎外, 另外有幾款亦可以無限 order, 之後廚房就會即叫即整十分令我喜出望外既反而係依幾樣即叫即整食物, 雖然都係任食但製作一點都唔求其, 而且碟碟都係熱辣辣上枱, 從食物既賣相或味道上都可以睇得到餐廳既誠意

十分令我喜出望外既反而係依幾樣即叫即整食物, 雖然都係任食但製作一點都唔求其, 而且碟碟都係熱辣辣上枱, 從食物既賣相或味道上都可以睇得到餐廳既誠意

生日月, 忙碌的朋友也特意跑過來慶祝, 吃個午餐。選其兩者中心點, 訂定了久沒嚐過的watermark!! 之前工作比較彈性, 有時也容許小船過海, 吃個午飯。現在彈性相對少了, 回想還是第一次過來吃吃。大家各都點了Executive Set Lunch再加$45海鮮頭盤自助餐。頭盤自助餐選擇還算多,青口, 生蠔, 大蝦, 沙律, 風腿等, 十多款冷盤作選擇。用料尚算新鮮, 單是頭盤已經可以吃個飽著。至於主菜,友人點了USDA Prime Beef Burger。嚐了一點, 感覺可以, 牛肉汁經煎封鎖在漢堡入面, 火候剛剛熟, 肉質亦有點滑。而我的是一個Prime Beef Tenderloin steak tartare。午市相對來說較少餐廳做Steak Tartare, 看到餐牌有此選擇, 便試試吧!! 牛肉肉質嫩, 只是略嫌打得太爛, 失去肉質嚼勁質感, 個人較喜歡還有一絲絲牛肉口感更好。配上有機蛋黃,水瓜柳及酸青瓜, 顏色賣相不錯。調味上只有鹽,雞蛋及黑椒, 個人覺得加點辣會比較惹味。份量十足, 感覺有點膩, 能吃得飽。還有一份薯條, 用鮮薯仔製作的香口惹味, 誰會抗拒?最後來

而我的是一個Prime Beef Tenderloin steak tartare。午市相對來說較少餐廳做Steak Tartare, 看到餐牌有此選擇, 便試試吧!! 牛肉肉質嫩, 只是略嫌打得太爛, 失去肉質嚼勁質感, 個人較喜歡還有一絲絲牛肉口感更好。配上有機蛋黃,水瓜柳及酸青瓜, 顏色賣相不錯。調味上只有鹽,雞蛋及黑椒, 個人覺得加點辣會比較惹味。份量十足, 感覺有點膩, 能吃得飽。還有一份薯條, 用鮮薯仔製作的香口惹味, 誰會抗拒?

第二次到watermark嘗brunch, 今次一行8人各位也很滿意.先說海鮮類, 青口鮮甜, 凍蝦及螺無味, 即開生蠔只有一款, 屬澳洲baby oyster, 細size但爽口重海水金屬味, 我喜歡!Cold Cut 偏咸, 但咸香味不夠, 味一般. 沙律材料選擇不多, 但當中醃番茄乾及欖非常美味!不得不提這裡的燒牛肉, 本人一向對這個菜式不太喜歡, 但兩次到訪watermark都覺此處燒牛肉非常出色, 且水準穩定, 生熟度亦是烚到好處, 可惜這次沒有辣根佐口, 據服務員稱, 因這批辣根貨色麻麻, 所以捨棄沒用, 可知餐廳選材認真, 如果大家到訪watermark, 嘗燒牛肉可配辣根, 個人覺得非常合襯, 味道像微辣薑絲, 卻不會蓋過主角牛肉的原味!另外, brucnh亦提供幾道即烹菜式任意order, 包括鵝肝, benedict, 楓蜜多士, 燈籠椒煎蛋餅等等, 各款即烹菜式評價很高! 但甜品卻比較遜色! 這裡咖啡也是我的大愛! $388加一, 能於週日對著海景品嚐美味食物消磨一個下午, 真很超值, 若想加配sparkling wine and white wine任飲, 亦只
