Contrary to my usual routine, this year I go for Western cuisine for Valentine’s Day dinner, assuming that the restaurant would have their usual menu still available. When we come to Venedia Grand Caffe in Central, unfortunately, there is only the Valentine’s Menu ($980 each) and we have to choose that.The first course is Lobster Tartare, with the chopped-up lobster meat on top of a foam made from bell peppers and tomatoes, with some homemade pickled vegetables on top. The acidity of the vegetables gives freshness and vibrancy to the delicate taste of the lobster meat, while the foam soft and delicious. Quite nice.The second course is Pan Seared Hokkaido Scallop. On top of the seared scallops are the Jerusalem artichoke chips which gives a contrast of crisp texture, finishing with a tarragon and caviar sauce, which has nice buttery taste and good match with the umami taste of the scallops. A bit too simple though on the presentation.The third course is Risone Pasta. My favourite dish on the night, this pasta is like long-grained rice, with al dente texture, and the mixed seafood and the stock adding wonderful flavours to the pasta. With some smoked salmon roes to enhance savoury and umami, and a touch of lemon zest for fragrance. It is very good.I have chosen Lamb Saddle Milanese Style for the fourth course, where the thinly-hammered lamb meat is coated with bread crumbs before deep-frying, having a crunchy crust while keeping the lamb not dried up. With baby broccoli on the side, the chef has prepared some Dijon mustard mayo to match with the course. Decent.For my wife, she has chosen Slow Cooked Toothfish. The fish fillet is soft and tender, with the clams and potato sauce flavourful, together with some purple cauliflower which adds to the bite and also a nice presentation of colour. I would pick this over the lamb saddle.The fifth and final course is Two Chocolate Mousse Cake and Strawberry Sauce. The cake is made into a heart shape to celebrate the day, not too sweet and quite good in taste. The strawberry sauce dotted on the plate however is not exactly very artistically done. The freeze-dried strawberry pieces on top of the cake are too chewy also. Only so-so.Service is reasonable, nothing fancy or memorable. The bill on the night is $2,445 and honestly over-priced. In a way this again proves to me that my practice of going to non-Western restaurants in such festivals are still a smart move, and I should remember this as another lesson learnt.

之前一直都有嚟幫襯,但而家換咗廚師,食物水準下降咗,有點失望,味道同口感菜式都一般,感覺這個價錢,可以有更多更好嘅選擇。今日叫咗個紅蝦扁意粉,意粉感覺冇味道,紅蝦新鮮,始終醬汁係冇滲透喺裏面,而且意粉嘅硬度口感冇咁好。同埋個叫左和牛,結果係失望嘅。一啲特別都冇,只有黃牛嘅味道,服務非常之好,而且好細心,亦都去了解我對食物嘅睇法。交通非常之方便,旁邊就已經有地鐵站。環境仍然係咁靚,打卡影相好地方,而且衛生乾淨。

本身book咗同個客食飯六個人本身有四個人叫咗three courses set lunch , 兩個人各自叫咗一個Pizza。 叫完之後佢走嚟好串咁同我哋講話平時如果叫set, 其他人都要一齊叫 ,今次唯有做俾你! 過咗都冇1分鐘再有一個人用英文過嚟再講多次! 感覺上呢件事真係好重要。 其實如果你講話唔得我哋轉返set其實冇問題。 但係成件事最後講到情緒勒索咁樣, 老實講食得都已經唔舒服。 仲有我問你攞Menu嘅時候你無同我講! 你expect我會知? 上菜嘅時候waiter用大聲過茶記嘅聲,不停講野。 仲要話因為sofa太遠換唔到刀叉, 不停將成set餐具隊俾我哋叫我哋自己換, 再俾返原本嗰啲佢。 同客食飯傾緊偈,中途不停打斷我哋講嘢。 中途仲要不停問我哋對嘢食新menu嘅意見。最後個客都忍唔住同佢講問佢可唔可以俾我哋自己傾陣偈先。 自己嚟講真係唔會再去, 如果仲要同客食飯嚟呢度真係不了。 首先呢間餐廳,lunch 講真唔可以話係平啦,埋單都差唔多$500一個人一set, 你俾啲咁嘅服務質素我$50都比多你啦。

朋友請客到米其林二星餐廳8 1/2 Otto E Mezzo Bombana同集團的Venedia。 三道菜428+10%(部份菜式要加100-300元) 今天午餐人均600,體驗感一般。最推薦的是八爪魚,夠淋但不驚喜,餐包也可以! Burrata 芝和超市貨相約,義大利火腿像是普通超市貨。 加了130元的生牛肉味道一般。主菜的Pizza 辣腸番茄起司薄餅超鹹!人朋友不吃!牛扒品質一般(加98+10%)八瓜魚最正常 甜點Tiramisu 正常。咖啡冰淇淋的咖啡好喝,冰淇林太甜 !今天是吃了平凡的一餐,是吃地點,服務一般!不會回来

This place used to be decent but deteriorated quite rapidly over the 6 months or so. Can get much better value for money in terms of both food and service elsewhere in Central. The male server had the audacity to address my clients as "next?" as he was taking orders. A 3 course lunch took an hour and 45mins to complete despite several requests to speed up service. It was also my first time being called by the same restaurant I am sitting within, telling me I was late for my reservation... Seems like the same server who showed us our table never checked us off the reservation list.The food was average and the low ceiling means it was noisy during the lunch hour rush. This might be an acceptable place if there is no where else available nearby, but it would not recommend this venue for business or casual lunches. I personally would not go back.
