We were hugely disappointed with our bacon cheese burgers at Triple O's, as we have had a good experience with them in China before.
Before we came to Hong Kong, we lived in Hangzhou in mainland China. Burgers were not that easy to find and when Triple O's opened there, we tried it. We got a great burger and left with very positive feelings. There, they used Canadian beef and also did sweet potato fries with chipotle mayo - yum!
We went to Triple O's here expecting the same standard, but were sadly mistaken in our prediction. We ordered two bacon cheese burgers with no sides (no sweet potato fried in HK!). The burgers (made with Australian beef) cost $58 a piece and we chose them because if we wanted straight up cheese burgers, we would have to get a regular burger for $35 and add $15 for cheese (costing 2 bucks more than the bacon cheese).
The burgers came out and we were initially excited, gobbling down the slice of pickle. Inside the bun was a catastrophe. The whole thing was very sloppy and after biting into the sandwich, we immediately noticed how dry and hockey-puck like the patty was. The bacon was crispy, but not in a pleasing way and was actually hard to eat. The relish and mayo were good and the bun was soft, but the cheese became entirely lost in the mess. The three most important elements of the burger were bad. A bacon cheese burger needs to have a good patty, good bacon and good cheese.
For the price they charge, you would expect a much better end result. Unfortunately, it was not much different to any cheap fast food chain burger (a bit drier perhaps), but was more expensive.
