One day I had a lunch with a good old friend in Lawry's. The entrance has staircase and looks splendid.We ordered famous prime ribs and lobster hamburgers. You don't need to need eat and just have a quick glimpse already feeling delicious. The desert we ordered Fruit tarts. The prime rib in medium rare, which is served on a warm plate to keep the meat and potatoes temperature. The meat is juicy, tender and soft. We ordered famous prime ribs and lobster hamburgers. You don't need to need eat and just have a quick glimpse already feeling delicious. The desert we ordered Fruit tarts. The prime rib in medium rare, which is served on a warm plate to keep the meat and potatoes temperature. The meat is juicy, tender and soft. Tearing apart without knife, chewing without difficulties and gravy spreading all over your mouth gave you deep impression. It is really delicious. Also, the lobster hamburger is tasted good. No matter bread and fries are attractive and crispy. Fruit tart's custard cream is not too sweet, the fruit's sour has good balances with butery of the pastry. Thin tart base is good and not like to bite hard biscuit. I like it and enjoy precious lunch time.

第一次幫男朋友慶祝,想搵間浪漫又有氣氛嘅餐廳。驚朋友介紹吓嚟咗呢一間扒房慶祝。餐廳天花係一個拱門圓頂,配上紅色沙發,充滿美式餐廳嘅特色,而且不失豪華感覺,裝潢的確好有氣氛👍🏻坐低後侍應隨即介紹今日嘅廚師係邊位,亦都有推介邊啲係餐廳嘅主打食物,十分有心思同細心,令我有賓至如歸的感覺。驚介紹後最後選了Special Menu,包左前菜,main course同甜品,唔使諗最好🤣食物質素唔錯,但未到未算太有驚喜,但如果係特別日子如周年紀念日慶祝的話,都可以一試,因為佢會有侍應幫你唱生日歌,亦幫你拍一張即影即有留紀念,都係幾有意義嘅一餐晚餐。

主角特級燒牛肉登場,分別點了一客加州薄切 (California Cut) 及一客升級招牌美味切 (Lawry Cut)(加 $200),兩者份量有明顯差別,大家可依照自身胃納及喜愛吃燒牛肉的程度二擇其一。半熟 (medium) 的燒牛肉外觀粉嫩,不論裡外皆擁有軟嫩的食感,肉味香濃,肉汁豐富。尤其是近脂質的位置,與鮮肉一併品評不但一點也不覺膩口,反而肉香更出更濃。把美味鮮肉吃掉一半,待燒汁肉汁混為一體,可用以蘸點英式烘薄酥餅及薯蓉品嚐,二次享受燒牛肉的精髓。

整體而言,Lawry’s 的燒牛肉多汁味濃依舊好吃,其他冷熱盤及伴菜亦富一定水準。用餐環境舒適,但餐桌擺放密度建議可稍作調低。整晩用餐體驗愜意!

這裏的semi buffet選擇雖然不多,但勝在每樣都很新鮮。(eg, 沙律菜,煙三文魚,凍蝦、mussels,cold cut ,生果)
特別喜歡它們的crab chowder,用料充足,有很多蟹肉和切得很細的蔬菜,很鮮甜,creamy度亦適中。
desert counter亦有幾款選擇eg mini fruit tart, 咖啡糕,海綿鮮果忌廉蛋糕,crème brûlée

主菜方面,當然必點這裏的招牌菜Roasted Prime Rib,另外點了Carbonara 和kid’s menu fish and fries

🥗冰旋翡翠沙律(The Famous Original Spinning Bowl):
職員會為你附上一套冰凍過嘅叉同盤,然後將材料同醬汁放入一個冰鎮不銹鋼大碗入面,一邊轉動,一邊攪勻。佢嘅沙律菜同麵包粒一直都係非常新鮮,食落好清新同卜卜脆,醬汁酸酸甜甜,係非常好嘅開胃菜。

🥩特色燒牛肉(Pirme Rib):
Califonia Cut,Lawry Cut同埋Diamond Jim Brandy Cut我都分別食過,但個人最喜歡係Lawry Cut。Lawry Cut好厚切,但份量適中,唔會因為太薄身而覺得唔夠喉,亦唔會令我感覺過飽而無咁好食。生熟程度我較喜歡medium rare,肉質好嫩滑,濕潤度同肉質柔軟度足夠,而油脂同肉味平衡得非常唔錯,每次我都唔會失望。



而香滑薯蓉(Mashed Potatoes)同英式烘薄酥餅(Yorkshire pudding)就唔多作分享,因為我自己認為呢兩款雖然都做得唔錯,好似薯蓉係有薯仔粒口感但就唔係太重牛油香,個人喜歡牛油味濃厚嘅。而酥餅幾香但味道並非我特別喜歡的口味,所以每次我都只食小小🙈

而佢之前由和記大廈搬咗去嘉軒大廈,所以餐廳裡面嘅座位擺設都改變咗。而家如果兩個人去食,座位比較窄,同鄰座距離相當近,坐得唔太自在,呢點覺得的確比以前有啲不足。

自問唔係食牛嘅專家......但這塊牛,令慕名而來的我們感到失望。上碟時牛肉已經不熱了,放入口已大打折扣(如這是燒牛肉的特色,恕我不懂事)。同時,牛肉的肥膏也略多,質地及味道都因為塊肉凍左,好難再細意品嘗。相對當晚其他配角,這個主角顥然失色了。

黎到生日飯嘅尾聲,我地前後食左兩個蛋糕,一個係Dinner Set 包嘅芝士餅、另一個係餐廳送嘅生日蛋糕(忘記了影相),前者是正常嘅tiramisu味道,後者是水果口味,兩者都不會太甜太「漏」。

而我訂台時已經request生日蛋糕,亦有講低壽星個名。但待應係我地食完芝士餅後,久久都未送上蛋糕,要等我地主動提起,先送上蛋糕。這算是一個小插曲,雖然唔知邊度出錯,但待應都應對得快嘅,更幫拍同送上一張即影即有。

食飯當晚都幾多客人生日,待應會邊唱生日歌、邊向客人送上生日蛋糕,而我地就喺此起彼落嘅歌聲中,享用呢次嘅生日飯。呢餐飯,雖有失望但亦有驚喜,但只要男朋友食得開心,就足夠了。

I used to frequent the Lawry’s in Causeway Bay when I was in primary school with my siblings and grandmother. I don’t remember much from the place - just that they had Yorkshire pudding to go with your steaks and that they offered Idaho potatoes that we would excitedly pile toppings over.

Come my sister’s birthday and we found ourselves visiting Lawry’s, now in Central, hoping to revisit the excitement we had back when we were children.

The place was tucked away in The Galleria. The restaurant exterior/interior was quite nice, the environment a comfortable mix between family-friendly and proper dining. The ceiling had gentle blue waves and lights dancing across the dome for our dinner service, acting as a nice ambience.

We were delighted to see the usuals, and went for the Roast Prime Ribs of Beef Aujus, which comes with not only the prime rib, but also spinning bowl salad, mashed potatoes and Yorkshire pudding (yay!). We also went for some sides - our long awaited Idaho potato, asparagus, mushrooms, the works.

The best part (in my humble opinion) about the spinning bowl salad is that it came with a FROZEN / COLD FORK. It really put things into the zone. I wish they gave us a bigger portion, but I set the small reservation aside because...

The carver showed up and unveiled the prime rib in all its glory. We all opted for the Lawry Cut (a supposed 10 oz), but it’s definitely too much for the average female. I ordered mine cooked medium. The meat was tender and juicy, a significant step up from their Causeway branch from what I can recall. We were given extra Yorkshire pudding on the side in case we wanted more, and it was just as delicious as I remembered it to be.

The Idaho potato still came with all the sides, topped messily in a nostalgic way, the bacon bits offering a nice kick to the sour cream, crispy potato skin and starchy goodness.

For desserts, we shared for the table a New York cheesecake, an English trifle, and an apple crumble. The desserts are all right - the trifle on the house by the generous staff for my sister’s birthday - definitely overshadowed by the prime rib and our bursting stomachs. My favorite was the apple crumble (you had to wait 20 minutes for it to bake), but I wish there was more crumble and less apple.

Either way, the staff were very helpful and friendly, the female waitress going above and beyond in snapping great photos of the family (including that beautiful dome ceiling), and printing us a polaroid as a gift to take home.

Thank you Lawry’s for such a sentimental dining experience!

The semi buffet did not have a wide variety of options but the food they did have are all very good quality. The octopus is very tender but the sauce is underwhelming and tastes a lot like 酸齋😅. The soup of the day is a crabmeat chowder soup and it had big fresh chunks of crab in it, the tiny pieces of carrots gave a nice crunch to the soup, very creamy and savory but not over indulgent. perfect with their bread which is chewy but crispy.


I also ate the bread with their smoked salmon and the salmon is so generous in size, one piece is really thick and long and very well smoked and seasoned.


The mini desserts they had was a chocolate mousse which was really good and it even have a waffle base I believe was it was chewy. There was also a coffee and strawberry jelly which was a weird contrast but very good together. After we finished the main course the desserts changed! There was a mango pudding, tiramisu and custard cream puffs. I didn’t get to try the tiramisu as I was quite full but the mango pudding is so creamy and firm with fresh mango pieces inside. The cream puff’s pastry was not paper like and bitter like some are but thick and chewy which I enjoy and tasted very good with the custard which was just the right amount of sweet and very silky and smooth.

One of the best dessert was the Fruit tarts, which are so soft and crumbly and a perfect one bite pastry. The custard cream is not over sweet at all and very creamy, the tang from the fruits is not too sour and balances out the buttery of the pastry. The tart base is thin and delicate and just melts onto your tongue. The fruit tarts stayed throughout the rotation.


The prime rib itself is served on a hot plate to keep the meat and potatoes warm, the meat is so very tender and I can pull it apart using my fork and knife instead of cutting it. My dad got the end cut (which is special as each rib only has one end cut) but it was very tough compared to the middle cut, the top was also charred so there was a crispness and smokiness to it but very dry and tough compared to the middle cut. I recommend getting it medium rare or medium as the plate is still hot and will cook it just a tad more.


They also have a social house seasoning (Lawry’s seasoning salt and pepper) which when sprinkled onto the steak really enhances the flavor and makes it taste better as salt normally does. However you want to be careful and not add too much or else it would be very salty and overpowers the rib completely until all you taste is salt. This seasoning is apparently on sale too.



The yorkshire pudding was made in a big pan and split between each plate. I personally did not enjoy it as there was a heavy egg taste but if you eat it with the prime rib or mash potato, it is a really good vessel for the beef jus and or gravy.


Overall, I don’t know if this is the “Best Prime Rib in Hong Kong” as I haven’t had it in a long time but it truly is very tender and silky, the service is also very good as the waiter is always there to tend to you and your needs. You also get to watch the meat get carved and it truly is an amazing experience, albeit the price is a bit extreme. The menu have a big variety of grilled meats and seafoods but if you have decided to only come here once, definitely try the prime rib, try the others if you come often.

這店是美囯餐廳,主攻燒牛肉。店裝修不錯,袖木地板,圓拱天花有星空投影,但枱排得有点密,有点像港式西餐廳,擺怡水平明顯不及 Ruth。点了杯 Beverly Hill Iced Tea, 這 cocktail超級 strong, 比 Long Island 更烈,由 Tequila, Vodka, White Rum, Gin, Triple Sec, White Wine,再加 Lime 及梳打水混和而成,喝了半杯像喝了2杯 Gin Tonic 的感覺。Lobster tail配檸汁及橄欖油,可以但不夠爽,燒牛肉要了最大份 16oz Diamond Cut, 很 Juicy, 肉很嫩但嫌肥肉有点多。总體水平不過不失。
