I have always been put off chachawan's long lines of 1-2 hours but have been meaning to go there for years. On a Friday at 7pm we managed to get a table, luckily we were just two people as the restaurant looked pretty full already. The atmosphere is a bit cluttered but they make up for it with good service and AMAZING food. 朋友说这是还不错的一家泰餐厅，今天来尝试午餐套餐选择很多先来选main course，服务员小哥特有意思，我们原本想选som dtum，就是papaya salad，小哥说他不推荐，然后画了几个自己喜欢的，我质疑地问他你真的是这的服务员吗？但是朴实的性格真的好让人喜欢我自然选择了小哥推荐的。lunch set可以选两个main courses 也可以选一个main+一个sweet，我选了gai tort，就是炸鸡+炸蒜，我觉得味道不错，尤其是酱料！第二个选了Moo tort ta krai我真心乱选的，因为完全看不懂，随便看了看配料，真心好吃！图二所示，lemongrass我一开始以为是wood，同事说他很确定可以吃，哈哈哈，叫来服务员特意问了，才知道名字，很有意思，炸猪肉也好吃！套餐里可以点米饭，jasmine rice没有吃出茉莉味，就是普通米饭，用碗盛的同事的sticky rice是用竹筒的，看着真心好！女生可以点，量比较少套餐包含饮料，服务员说了一圈，我只听懂ice lemon tea，其他真没懂。。很推荐的一家餐厅！大爱泰餐

TGIF, I met with my best friend to try this restaurant/bar recommended by her colleague. The restaurant specialises in Thai food and we're just been to Thailand in Easter so we thought we'd give it a go and see how the food is like. 朋友最近搬到上環，當然要周圍搵啲好嘢食！ 經朋友介紹咗一間泰東北菜, 地下那層半酒吧半餐廳， 他們的裝修也很特別所以吸引了很多外國遊客和外國人。他們的餐牌主要用英語為主，所以在這昏暗的餐廳裏也要花上一點時間才可以把餐牌上餸菜的名稱看得清楚。Khor Moo Yung $158, 烤豬頸肉分量也不少， 肉質非常爽口不會太肥膩，重點係加上咗一個特製醬汁，提升了食物嘅味道。Gai Yung $ 158, 燒雞髀。 火後掌握得非常之適中，雞皮非常之香脆，一點也不肥膩而雞肉非常之嫩滑juicy！Khao Pad $148， 這個蟹肉蛋炒飯非常出色飯身比較乾粒粒分明，而且蟹肉非常之多， 絕對值得推介Pak Poong Fai Mai Dang $78， 這個炒通菜夠鑊氣味道不會太鹹 整體的食物質素真的不錯，但服務態度就真的一般般。

朋友新居就在我其中一間最愛的泰國菜館附近，當然要帶她來這裡食晚飯。可能是長假期多人外遊，沒有像平曰周末大排長龍，馬上有得入座，雖然是bar枱座位。這家餐廳的菜色選擇不多，但每一道菜都很出色。Khor Moo Yung - 燒豬頸肉豬頸肉非常彈牙，外皮炭烤增加口感，配合特製醬汁，一流Gai Yung - 燒雞扒這道菜是我跟朋友最喜歡的雞皮烤至薄脆，但同時雞肉仍然保持多汁嫰滑，絶不簡單。Khao Pad - 蟹肉炒飯蟹肉相當豐富，而炒飯粒粒分明軟硬適中，再配合特別調製的青檸辣汁，味道豐富之餘，感覺仍然清新。Pak Poong Fai Mai Dang - 炒通菜有別於很多泰國餐廳，這裏的炒通菜絕對不過分油膩，調味濃度適中，好味之餘仍覺健康

The poor service impressed me. This is the second time I visit here. The receptionist is rude. No sense. I won't come to visit anymore even the food is not bad at all. I will rate 0 star for chachawan . So disappointed. You can visit and have a try but you don't mind the 0 star service.

位於上環，主打泰國東北部菜的ChaChaWan，是城中我最喜愛的泰菜館之一。記得10多年前初次踏足Khon Kaen、Udon Thani等Isan依善地區後，便自此愛上這受鄰近寮國菜影響的酸辣濃重口味泰國東北部菜。在香港難得可以找到接近的風味，所以每次在Chachawan都會吃得很開心。這晚又來到Chachawan，大家先喝一口'熱辣辣'的酸辣椰汁雞肉與菇熱清湯Tom yum gai ban ($148)。除了椰香與南薑、辣椒等的辣，還有突出的香茅、檸檬酸和清香，味道層次複雜，亦很醒胃。接著大家吃2款經典的泰東北部'沙律'。Som dtum Thai ($95)，即泰式青木瓜沙律，或som tum/som tam。青木瓜絲爽口，配上花生，車厘茄，豆角，小蝦米等，以及酸酸辣辣又帶鹹鮮的魚露醬汁，辣中帶酸，越食越開胃。Larp bet ($128)，免治鴨肉沙律。這款香料免治肉碎沙律laab通常用豬肉或雞肉，在Chachawan有個較少遇見的鴨肉版本，味道香辣清香，佐飯一流！尤其配糯米飯。這裡的糯米飯Khao niew ($28)就像在泰國當地般用小竹筒上枱，風味十足。另外我們亦點了串燒

It's my 5 or 6 times here and they never disappoint.. until now. Food is still somehow consistent- spicy, well seasoned. However I'm not sure if I will go back if their service keeps getting worse. 這餐廳不設訂座, 一行五人12:30到達餐廳, 朋友一早試過了, 只有我未食過, SET LUNCH 大約$138左右。有一個菜可以揀, 跟一個白飯或糯米飯, 一杯野飲, 不過個菜真係細到呢...你可見圖, 野食得掌心都唔夠甘細碟, 同埋味道同平時食開既泰國菜唔同, 佢係FUSION 泰國菜, 即係比鬼佬食既係得HOLLYWOOD ROAD都正常既。 不過我又幾鍾意食BOR! 我地五個人都叫左7個野食先夠食。因為2男3女, 如果我一個人叫一個SET都未必夠食啦~

Pla Phao Glua烤鱼量很大 非常管饱 但是味道不足。冬阴功汤Tom Yum Gai口味太重。沙拉pla mauk Yung 还不错。喜欢喝Thai milk 但感觉不太健康.

Bad service, rude waiters not exceptional tasty food at all; food only just standard quality. Bad service of the waiters make the whole night a superb unpleasant experience. Will never revisit ever. If there's button to choose '0 star' for service, I would put '0'.

This is a bad way to do business: First the restaurant promised us to wait for 20mins. Then after ten mins they, with the effort to not lose the business of table of 6, they tell us a table is about to be ready. Pls wait for another 10mins... Order some drinks at the bar (yes, give them more business via drinks before the meal). Upon after waiting for another 10mins, they tell us the table changed their mind and are not paying anymore. 半酒吧半餐廳既格局，帶點香港舊式裝修，從門面睇一d都唔似泰國菜若非家姐食過覺得味道唔錯，一定搵唔到呢間餐廳(我跟住openrice既地圖都搵左15分鐘!)離上環地鐵站頗遠，chachawan晚餐時間都近乎坐滿。外國客人偏多，餐牌都係英文cocktail好多選擇，但最後我同家姐都點了啤酒前菜pla mauk yung--魷魚沙律，辣辣地，有淡淡莞茜，魚露，青檸和其他香料味，魷魚燒過，本身帶點咸，配埋撈好既醬汁，幾開胃主菜 pla phao glua,鹽燒鱸魚，大概下單後30分鐘先上菜。燒過既鱸魚，成塊魚皮就咁揭起，啖啖肉，勁正!!魚剛熟，非常嫩滑配埋泰汁，好香既蒜味。但可能成日食中魚皮上的鹽，覺得咸了點最後食了炒金邊粉，味道一般，甜左d(茄汁味好濃)又咸左dd整體算不錯價錢略高，2位一共$716

I had a quick lunch break at ChachaWan and I really enjoyed it.The price for the lunch is good and so is the selection.Both of my dishes were really tasty.It felt like authentic Thai cuisine, with the right amount of spiciness.Presentation is rather simple but that has to be expected if you recreate the Thai cuisine in HK.ChaChaWan is a layback, cosy and simple restaurant who offers great Thai food!Service was fast and the waitress was attentive and polite!Overall it was a great experience!
