Though I don't usually eat meat pies, this place always seemed incredibly packed every night I passed by. So I finally decided to try out dinner here for once. And my gosh was the wait horrendous. Though I came here and waited in line for thirty minutes, the staff let in a group of 6 and a group of 4 behind inside first, leaving myself and a group of 2 in front of me just dying to get a seat. The issue wasn't even that there weren't enough space, but the staff really took a while to clean the tables to make way for new customers, and the people in front of me were just bombarding the staff with insults, cussing, and itching to go in and sit themselves without the staff's guidance and permission. It was kinda funny watching people crash out at the fact that they weren't allowed in, but at the same time it was kinda understandable if you were waiting in line for a long time and someone behind you was seated before you. Anyways, time to see what the hype is about. As I mentioned, meat pies aren't really my cup of tea per say, so I ordered some side dishes instead just in case I don't finish. Little did I know, all the "sides" I wanted to try out were all meal sets, so imagine the shock of the waitress when I basically told her I wanted 4 meals LOL. Obviously I ain't finishing all that, so I ended up taking 4 bowls of rice home as left overs. Anyways heres the food:I was quite satisfied with all the dishes, with the highlight being their scrambled eggs with tiger prawns. I think their scrambled eggs are probably the best I've ever had so far, as they were perfectly runny, seasoned, and with just a tint of cooking wine and msg. The veggies were decent, just wok fried and mixed with garlic. The sweet and sour pork sauce tasted nice and the flavors were balanced, but the meat was still a bit on the tougher side for my taste, so it was a bit hard to chew but still edible overall. Lastly the main event - the meat pie. Personally I thought it was alright and just ok, but it was still enjoyable all in all and I liked the slight char mixed with the rich salty pork flavor, best devoured on top of rice. I wish it was less oily, but theres only so much you can expect staff to do during rush hours haha. Not sure how meat pie enthusiasts would rate this place, but I thought it was decent overall, but not something I would die and line up painfully for again to be completely honest. Still glad I tried this place out though!…查看更多
