在網上手機程式找到了一間在附近的餐廳,因為有折扣優惠,所以便抱着一試無妨的心情去吃個午餐。配搭不是傳統的,但用料不錯,燒雞又嫩又滑,我吃的是煎魚,是真正的急凍石斑,並不是一般港式餐廳那種平價龍利柳或越南臉魚,幾道菜包括薯條只稍嫌放多了一點鹽,以這價錢來說實在是不錯!黑板上還寫上平日的優惠午餐,有頭盤,主菜和甜品,也只是$99已包括服務費。只可惜我不在附近返工,否則一定會再來。店子很小,牆壁畫了跑車,並不是談情說愛的那種裝修,但服務很好,不妨一試。

It was last evening on Sunday 15 April 2018 when we went to Pete's Place for some Peruvian delicacies.We saw Anticuchos on the menu - the favourite Peruvian street-stall delicacy. Beef and chicken available (although no corazon - beef heart). So we ordered two portions of beef anticuchos.Each portion had two skewers of four generous cubes of succulent, Australian wagyu beef - eight gorgeous cubes per portion. It was last evening on Sunday 15 April 2018 when we went to Pete's Place for some Peruvian delicacies.

We saw Anticuchos on the menu - the favourite Peruvian street-stall delicacy. Beef and chicken available (although no corazon - beef heart). So we ordered two portions of beef anticuchos.

Each portion had two skewers of four generous cubes of succulent, Australian wagyu beef - eight gorgeous cubes per portion. With all its juiciness it was love at first bite.

We couldn't wait to try their chicken version just curious on how they would do the chicken. We ordered one portion and shared the two skewers between us. Although they used meat from chicken thigh it was not as succulent as the wagyu beef, but we were still amazed on how they managed to put chicken on the grill yet managed to retain so much of its juiciness. So even the chicken anticucho scored very high.

Considering the amount of meat we had already devoured we finally ordered a vegetarian pappardelle and the sauce was impressive.

The boss, a Mr Peter Chan (surprise . . . my exact namesake) and his daughter were very nice and we had a good chat with them, even with one of their chefs - a midle-aged Filipino with small stature who had actually worked as a chef in Peru.

Overall - remarkable service, gorgeous food and reasonably priced. The only room for more desire would be their menu. I suggested to the chef that they should add more Peruvian items, like Anticuchos de Corazon (beef heart grill on skewers - THE true authentic Peruvian street-stall favourite) and at least Chicha Morada . . . the Peruvian National non-alcoholic drink.

Thanks to Restaurant Week 2018, I was able to try out this new join in Sai Ying Pun., which has a diverse menu of Peruvian, Spanish, Italian, British and Asian fusion dishes. This Tuna Tataki is placed on bed of avocado with ginger chimichurri on top. This Tuna Tataki is placed on bed of avocado with ginger chimichurri on top. The fresh seared tuna was delicious, and the sauce kinda make the avocado tasted like sashimi too. The crunchy ginger chimichurri, which had a strong flavour, topped up the taste of the dish.

If you are an avocado lover, you would have had a whole avocado by now ordering the appetizer and second course like me. However, you will not get sick of it, as this time, the avocado was grilled, and sprinkled with lollo rosso, tomato and crispy sweet potato. I couldn't quite find the crispy sweet potato, but the salad was fantastic  in terms of presentation and taste.

This main course of Australian Lamb Rack was truly amazing too, especially with the harrisa sour cream sauce. But I am not a big fan of the Mediterranean quinoa salad, it tasted quite strong with the red onion.

I guess this Tres Leche (Peruvian cheesecake) with three kinds of milk is one of their signatures. Unlike ordinary mousse like cheesecake, this one is more like a moist sponge cake. I guess the three kinds of milk were mixed well so I couldn't really taste them...But it was a good piece of dessert with the honey combs, fresh strawberries and blueberries.

Everything was great except that the rice was too moist and we would prefer it to be slightly softer. It was also slightly saltish to our liking

The portion was really big and we really liked this dish! We were also impressed by how the chef also paired it up with handful of quinoa! The lamb chop was really tender and succuluent!

Small cozy restaurant, nice atmosphere. We've been there for diner with friends.Excellent food, everything we tried was amazing. Also the quality of the produces was fabulous. Service was very friendly we feel comfortable and welcome. On the expensive side, though.We will go back again

Upon the recommendation of my friend, we tried out this new place (opened three months ago) on the last day of the Year of the Rooster. It is located at a quiet area of High Street. We ordered two pasta dishes and the BBQ Spare Ribs. I must say the spare ribs was one of the best we have tried and we had sampled a lot of them before. It was tender, moist and tasty. Even my Dad who is over 80 years old said it was yummy. Definitely will visit again and have already recommended to many friends.

我點的是烤豬肋骨,看上去跟平日的烤豬肋骨是沒有什麼分別。切開一件來吃,肉質鬆化而完全不乾韌。好吃的還有那醬汁,濃郁之餘帶一點點的酸味,好吃。據知這是醃了超過一天的效果,席上朋友一致裁定這是個好吃的豬肋骨。

最後就是Tandori Lamb Chop,看上去烤得非常吸引,撲鼻而來的就是香料的香味。羊架本身口感不算是非常軟熟,而香料的味道令其吃起來增添風味。配上的是一大堆藜麥飯,是烤羊架的理想組合。只是我一向不是「藜麥之友」,所以就少吃的。

是日甜品是咖啡酒芝士蛋糕,可惜我下午另有工作要趕著走,跟其緣慳一面。這裡三道菜的午餐由$88至$128,價錢非常合理之餘,水準也非常不錯。據悉午市餐牌會每周轉變,看來下次在附近都可以回來「安哥」。

Presentation and taste of the dishes are awesome! Owner TM is an amazing host. The Tuna Tataki is the best I've ever had! Best place to hang out with friends or just looking for a cozy place for supper after a long day of work. This is the type of restaurant where you won't just remember the food but the exception service as well! Big thumbs up to the team at Pete's Place! Highly recommended!

Took four of my younger colleagues there and see if the food tastes as good as it looks.The place is waiting for its liquor license and currently operating on a BYO basis. The place is waiting for its liquor license and currently operating on a BYO basis. There were a big group of uncles and aunties there already, exploiting the BYO policy, when we arrived that evening.

We shared 5 starters (Grilled Octopus, Scotch Eggs, Tuna Tataki, Grilled Asparagus & Halloumi Cheese, Chicken Anticucho) and 4 main courses (Roasted Peer BBQ Ribs, Wagyu Tenderloin, Roasted Duck Papadelle, Seafood Paella  a la negro) plus a big plate of truffle fries. All are good and washed down joyfully with our wine.

Service is warm and cozy. TM, who served us, was able to make us feel home. Stemware is proper and appropriate - flutes for our bubbly, burgundy glasses for our Brunello and Kiwi Pinot.

I had already booked this place for another dinner with friends next week before I asked for the bill. I definitely recommend this place to my friends.

Petes Place is run by the former occasional chef from The Den off Bonham Road. There’s a close family connection and the quality of food and service has followed done the escalator to Petes Place.

The cuisine is distinctly western but with an unusual, central/South American slant.

Dishes revolve around strong and spicy flavours, with an interesting mix of options. It doesn’t have say 6 pizzas, 6 pastas and 6 meats (like Jaspas and High Street Grill). Each dish is very unique and means although the choice isn’t huge, there’s plenty of variety.

We were there for soft opening. Even then, you get a real feel for the attention to detail in the food.

Tuna tataki is seared on a bed of silky avocado and a delightful salad topping. Not your usual pile of greens with a slip of dressing on the side. The tuna was cooked to perfection and super fresh. Wife had the soft centred scotch egg which was again cooked to perfection.

For main I had the black rice paella, presented beautifully with fresh mussels. The other people in our party also complemented every dish without exception.

I’ve since returned to look at prices as soft launch was on a pay as you want basis. The prices are incredible for High Street and a real breath of fresh air.

Survival will be based on word of mouth and ability to get seated as the place is very small. It’s proximity to a well known off licence will give it some passing trade.

We will return soon and as long as quality and service remains high - as it always did at The Den - then this small, personal restaurant is bound to be successful.

Newly opened by TM Chan .... Pete’s Place in High Street is amazing. The variety of food and flavours are to die for a mix of Peruvian, Spanish, Japanese a really lovely change to the Sai Ying Pun area. The food quantity and taste are outstanding. There really is nothing like it around this area. The service and attention to detail during our dinner is second to none, a lovely warm atmosphere and topped off with the whole family being involved is something very unique.

Newly opened by TM Chan .... Pete’s Place in High Street is amazing. 
The variety of food and flavours are to die for a mix of Peruvian, Spanish, Japanese a really lovely change to the Sai Ying Pun area.

For starters, it was difficult to choose because all of them seemed good.
So in the end had the scotch eggs which were crispy on the outside with soft and juicy pork meat and oozing yolk.

He reckoned the best he's eaten in a very long time!  I had the  asparagus & haloumi for my starter which was amazing!  Being kiwi's we were treated to the green lip mussels with garlic, shallot & a gorgeous dressing on top.  We could have devoured a bowl of that but knew we had our mains to come.  I couldn't go past the roasted duck

duck papadelle as pasta & duck are a beautiful combo whilst hubby knew the minute he saw NZ hoki in crispy batter on the menu, that's what he'd order.  Both dishes didn't disappoint.  I reckon my dish was the best but he claimed his was so you'd have to go and find out for yourself!  A beautiful chocolate molten lava cake & yummy tart finished off the meals.  Before dinner, we popped next door to the Wine Rack and purchased a couple of bottles to enjoy with our meals.  We loved the friendly banter from Pete & TM and really had a fabulous time!  Don't hesitate to go there, you won't be disappointed with the food nor the warm and welcoming staff, service and ambience.  This is a place to look out for when you're in Sai Ying Pun!

Well, wasn't I absolutely surprised to come across the neighbourhood gem upon my first visit to Sai Ying Pun!  I popped in with a friend to check out their lunch menu and so glad I did.  It was so tempting that we decided to do their 3 course set of which I selected the hearty potato, cauliflower soup with garlic bread followed by the most tender beef wagyu & fries and finished off with a delicious chocolate mousse had me wanting more!  So much more in fact, that I called my hubby & told him we

Look at my 2nd review.  Being BYOB (bring your own bottle) meant we could grab a bottle from the Wine shop next door (so convenient).  Fabulous service, staff are wonderful & great to meet Peter, TM, Euling & family - you won't be disappointed.
