I have found that 一粥麵 has been taking over those MTR malls recently. Despite the monopoly of these chain stores, I do found that it is a much nicer option when compared to those Cafe de XXXXX or XXXXXwood. Without a doubt, this HK style restaurant features congee and noodles. Noodles are priced at $30-$35 while congee is just under $30! Without a doubt, this HK style restaurant features congee and noodles. Noodles are priced at $30-$35 while congee is just under $30! I found that congee has a bigger portion than noodles so I think congee is an even more valuable choice if you are hungry !
Wonton Noodles
We have ordered a bow of classic wonton noodles. It comes 5 medium sized wonton with in wonton skin, some noodles, garlic chives(韭黄), and a few pieces of choi sum.
The wonton is pretty good looking with thin and smooth wonton skin. It has 1 piece of shrimp and some minced pork noodles. Not to fatty. Simply just on point!
The noodles are not bouncy but rather soft and thin when compared to some egg noodles in some other traditional noodles shops. It's not my favourite type of noodle but at least the whole bowl of soup noodles is hot and not too salty. A perfect light food to enjoy after a very very long day.
p.s. you can serve yourself with hot/cold water next to their self-collect counter. You may also get some vinegar, chilli oil and some other condiments in the same common area.
When compared to the previous Vietnamese restaurant at the same spot, I think this is a much nicer eatery with good and cheap eat that represent HK traditions.
