You know it’ll be good cos as soon as you strip out of the lift, there’s a massive queue of people waiting to get in! Luckily we booked a table ahead of time 🤭 . You pick the type of meats you want to “all-you-can-eat” (endlessly order via the QR code supplied on table) and then everything else comes standard - veggies, different types of meat balls, fish balls etc. (go out a grab as much and as often as you want) 🥳 . They also have a great selection of “housemade teas”, soft drinks, Vita lemon tea series drinks and beers - loved the Sapporo, Asahi & Sommersby Ciders (again all you can drink) 🍻 . The meats come out fast after ordering and they keep in coming as long as you can finish it all 🤤 . We were super satisfied and full - total food coma rolling out of there hahaha but so worth it! 🤩🥰😍

We’ve been to other branches of this same store previously with good experiences, however, the food at this one was unfortunately average at best 😓 . We ordered: ~ 京都炸醬麵 (HK style dry mixing noodles) ~ 南乳豬手撈麵 (Pork knuckle with dry mixing noodles) ~ 蛋黃千層糕 (Steamed Egg yolk layered cake) . I mean all in all it was disappointing because the noodles lacked any sauce to mix it in with and the meats were a tad bland. The egg yolk cake was probably better than both of the noodles 😅 . Not sure if it’s just this branch or whether overall quality has gone down but I’d not be rushing back to try this chain any time soon 😓

Wifey found this super yummy Hainan Chicken rice place from some feeds on our IG - it looked sooo good we had to try it out @alldaychicken.hk 🤗🤗 . I think they first opened in North Point but this Mongkok branch is much easier to get to for us 😅 . Seating-wise it’s not a huge place, there’s probably enough for around 20 or so ppls sharing tables. I mean it’s comfy enough and the main focus is the chicken not the seating haha 😊 . Ordering via the table’s QR code, you can pick different parts of the chicken, leg, lower quarter, upper quarter etc. and can choose chicken rice or scallion tossed noodles to go with the chicken 🐓 . The food comes out pretty quickly and as soon as we both take our first bites into the chicken, we immediately realise how tender & perfectly cooked the chicken is 🤤👌🏻 The meat is silky smooth &soft & full of chicken flavour - probably the best Hainan chicken rice were had in HK so far! 😍 . Definitely worth a visit to either their MK or North Point branch if you like Hainan Chicken 😇

The environment and ambience was dim and private - not a bad thing for patrons to enjoy in the overall dining experience. We ordered a few different things to try: (don’t remember the names of them but here’s a semi-description lol 😂) ~ A tuna belly, sea urchin and salmon roe rice bowl ~ 300ml of house sake ( i think they were doing a special on this) ~ Snow crab & sea urchin hand rolls ~ Soft shell crab roll ~ Seared salmon roll with salmon roe ~ Deep fried tofu with mentaiko . We were pretty full after all this and found the dishes to be very fresh. The seafood were all super fresh tasting and the sea urchin was subtly sweet tasting - definitely recommend 👌🏻 . I love the sake - really can remember its descriptors but it was crisp, served iced and had a refreshingly clean taste to it 🤤

We stumbled across an old favourite in a different location, so Wifey and I had to try it out - @ninetyscoffee 🤗 . 📍 NINETYs (K11購物藝術館) (Tsim Sha Tsui) Shop G17A&B, G/F, K11 Art Mall, 18 Hanoi Road, Tsim Sha Tsui . We used to love visiting their Queen’s Rd store at Wanchai but heard it had closed. So seeing it at K11 made us happy again 🥰 . They do a great all day brunch menu & some decent coffees to go with it all 👌🏻 . Our order: ~ Scrambled Eggs on Sourdough Toast (炒蛋多士) with Bonito & Crab Fat Scrambled Eggs(鰹魚蟹羔炒蛋) ~ Siu Wan Rice(Small)黯然銷魂溫泉蛋飯(小) ~ Oat milk Flat White & Long Black ☕️ . The portion size vs price vs surroundings value proposition is still pretty good here. These were part of their tea-set specials in the afternoon and definitely represented great value ✅ . Wifey loved the Bonito & Crab Fat scrambled eggs! I did too cos the crab flavour is quite pronounced. I also really liked their char siu - although not the bbq style one that i typically love , this one was super tender and full of flavour too 👌🏻 . Their house fruity and house chocolatey blends of coffee are great too. True to their description the fruity one is light on the palette and has quite a fruity follow through 🤤 . So glad to rediscover this place 😇🤓

This has become our regular “go-to” HK style cafe this year -佳記冰室 … it’s where 輕鬆一下 used to be 🤓 . 📍 佳記冰室 (Kwai Fong) Shop A035-A037, G/F, Kwai Chung Plaza, 7-11 Kwai Foo Road, Kwai Fong . Wifey and I love these local style, has a variety of HK & ‘western-influenced’ options and does a good Stay Beef Noodle soup! 🍜 . Typically we get the Stay beef noodle soup (沙嗲牛肉公仔麵), plus scrambled eggs and toast for breakfast (炒蛋多士) and will have it with an Iced HK style coffee (凍啡少甜😅) . The other day i got their “All-day-breakfast” which came with a crumbed fish fillet, sausage, scrambled eggs & cheesy croissant 🥐 It was pretty good value for $$ too 🤗 . Went to try out a new cafe the other day with wifey for breakfast 🤗 . 📍 三點三冰室 - 3.3 Cafe (Tsing Yi) Shop G24-G25, G/F, Maritime Square 1, 31-33 Tsing King Road, Tsing Yi . It’s supposedly supposed to be the reincarnation of another recently closed cafe (Law Mark Kee 羅麥記), but unfortunately the food doesn’t stack up as well as the former 🥲 . I vividly remember the meals at Law Mark Kee to be of a decent portion size and actual tasting really yummy. However, at this new cafe - 三點三3.3 cafe, it just doesn’t deliver the goods 😪 . Its menu does have a lot of options but what we had (breakfast) was just average at best. My fish fillet brekky was smaller than expected and the scrambled eggs were a bit flavourless. Wifey’s tomato satay beef noodle soup looked nice but again was a bit bland and flavourless 🫠 . All in all, would rather go somewhere else for breakfast that’s probably a bit cheaper too

A random dinner at a HK style “ice cafe”/“tea cafe” (冰室/茶餐廳) the other night. It was fairly busy and had lots of locals, which is usually a good sign 👍🏻 . 📍 Dragon City Cafe (龍城冰室) G/F, Way On Commercial Building, 500 Jaffe Rd, Causeway Bay . Let’s just say that its food is better than its environment. I mean it’s a HK style cafe, so don’t expect heaps in regard to ambiance/environment but the quality of the food and its value for money, is where these places show their strengths 💪🏻 . This one is part of a larger chain of hk style cafes, but it still delivers relatively good value for money and the food is pretty tasty too. I got the “Bbq pork & prawns in an egg style sauce on rice”. As you can see the portion size is pretty generous & there’s quiet a lot of pieces of the pork and prawns 👍🏻 . Wifey got a “Curry Beef brisket & tension with rice” - but i forgot to take a pic 😅 the flavour was pretty good, the only downside was that she got 95% tendon and 1 piece of brisket lol 😂

A super chill & relaxed vibe in this cafe - @dozyhk 😇 . 📍 Dozy (Sham Shui Po) G/F, 199 Ki Lung Street, Sham Shui Po . A great little coffee shop that’s hidden in plain sight in the middle of Sham Shui Po 👍🏻 . The crew here do up a proper coffee offering your usual plus some other interesting options - like a coffee smoothie, which Wifey loved. (It’s heat that they offer alternate milks too like oat milk) 👌🏻 . We wanted to try their Hojicha cake roll but they didn’t have it available on this visit - so we might have to come back next time 🙃

Today Wifey and I went to have a buffet lunch at @kwancheukheen 😍 . As soon as we walked in, we took in the amazing looking decor and views across the harbour to Tsim Sha Taui East. We were fortunate enough to be seated by the window with uninterrupted views 👍🏻 . The buffet isn’t your usual western style one but rather a Cantonese cuisine all-you-can-eat dim sum affair - which was of an extremely high calibre 🤤👌🏻 . I won’t list out all the different dishes you can get (it’s listed on their main website anyways). However, callouts were: ~ Braised Fish Maw steak and Baked Whole Abalone Puff (花膠扒及君綽蠔皇鮑魚酥) ~ Wolfberry and omanthus jelly (杞子桂花糕) ~ Crispy egg dough with honey citron and walnut (合桃金絲柚子蜜蛋散) . It was definitely worth its value and the service was very attentive & friendly ✅ Also to note, to enjoy the buffet - you need to purchase and book seats in advance from their e-shop linked to their website online 😇
