Tucked away on Kingston Street, Urban Coffee Roaster is the lovechild of 2 coffee enthusiasts who pride themselves sourcing, roasting, and brewing expertise. I asked for a place to work, and they provided a place for me to charge my laptop along with free wifi. This place doesn't seem to have a time limit for customers which is an extremely rare find especially in Hong Kong, which gives this place a big plus for me.Today I tried a hefty serving of beef rice, tomato soup, some granola oats, a latte and a 85% iced chocolate, which was slightly more expensive than the average meal, but still a decent price for the premium ingredients you get. What stood out to me the most were the tomato soup and the chocolate, where I tasted both the richness and the quality instantaneously. I really liked the presentation of the chocolate soup in particular, where the square ice cube and the shavings of dark chocolate made it look like an elegant cocktail. The oats were just as great in my opinion, and the fruits that came with were just as fresh and juicy. The latte was nice too, since the balance between bitterness, sweetness, and milkiness complemented each other in a wonderful aroma, a testament to UCR's promise in using "freshly roasted specialty coffee beans." The only semi let down was the beef rice, as there was no medium or medium-rare option for my beef, and some parts of the rice were still a little bit uncooked. But overall, I really enjoyed my meal and the dinning atmosphere for the 3 hours I was here, and the staff were nice, diligent, and super attentive.…查看更多
