I bet there is at least one pizza aficionado in your family. Well, The Pizza Pig will be the perfect spot for pizza lovers to gather and chat about their favourite dishes! (If you like pineapple on pizza, make sure not to call your Italian best friend!) Anyway, back to the main topic, I visited The Pizza Pig with my family and friends last Sunday to a stunning, special experience. With dim lights and a casual Jazz music playing in the background, The Pizza Pig is definitely listed on my eat-again list.
Upon entering, the staff immediately handed us a couple of menus, serving not only special drinks, but also various dishes. I ended up ordering a KitKat Matcha, some fried snacks and a salade. The salad came first. It looked colorful with a mixture of lettuce, shredded meat and sauce. It was placed neatly in piles so we had to mix the veggies ourselves. As I scooped a spoonful of salad into my mouth, the sweet taste of lettuce rose immediately along with the rich sauce. The veggies were crunchy along with occasional tomatoes. They were explosives, bursting tomato juice all over my mouth. This was a blast to eat as the starting dish. 🥗
Next, the fried snacks arrived at our table. They were fried chicken and squids. As my throat hurt that day, I didn't eat any fried chicken. Instead, let me talk about the mesmerizing fried squids they serve at the restaurant. They come in fried squid rings, along with two different sauce for us to dip the squids in. When I took a bite of it, it was crispy on the outside and tender in the middle, with no odor of raw seafood when feasting. The squid, wrapped in flour, wasn't as oily as other common fried snacks, making it healthier and more suitable for children. If you are not a great fan of fried food, these fried squids might be your new cup of tea. 🐙
Next was the KitKat Matcha. It was cool and perfect for summer. This drink also came with a fast pace and it was filled to the brim with cream, including a KitKat sticking out of the left side. When sucking the drink, you can occasionally feel some tiny biscuits flowing into your mouth. I think it is probably the KitKat biscuits and for giving the drink more textures. With a rich aroma of matcha and milk, this is potentially the best Matcha drink I have drunk before.
After a refreshing break, the main dish finally presented itself -- the Hawaii Pizza. You might think it is the normal circle size with pineapple as toppings and that's it, but you couldn't be more wrong. Since we had a table of eight, the pizza was served in a rectangular shape, which was hilarious, but special, to me. It had a carefully toasted edge and huge pineapple toppings were scattered all over the dish. Under them laid the tomato sauce which almost covered the entire pizza and several pieces of sliced ham. When I cut it into a square, it was crusty and I could hear the sound of the edge crumbling. Taking a bite, the mixture of tomato, pineapple and bread burst in my mouth. It tasted like sweet mixed with sour and a crust to finish the whole bite off. The crust was crispy on the outside and soft in the middle whilst the cheese that topped the pizza was rich in flavour. I could stretch it away from my mouth like a string being hung on both sides of your bedroom wall! To conclude this off, this Hawaii pizza is not only unique, but also rich in flavour, perfect for big groups to dig in.
All in all, The Pizza Pig is the flawless spot for families and friends to feast together. Not only does the food come in huge-sized portions, but they are also scrumptious. I would recommend going to this restaurant for chatting instead of serious business talks because of its informal environment. If you have a chance to try it out, don't forget to tell me how it is!
