/ Jimmy’s Kitchen (JK) 的重开JK 这个名字上代中环人不会陌生,爸爸就说他出身时候中环上班,跟客户不时到旧 JK 午餐。旧 JK 在南华大厦地库直到 2020 年结业,他说我爷爷的时代,爷爷是去中环 Hilton《鹰巢》的,他则去 JK。看来一个时代有一个时代的符合那个「时代精神」的「聚脚点」。JK 曾几何时是政商界的午餐地方,经常会碰到当时得令的名人或者未来领袖、熟悉的脸孔。后来香港有更多更好的餐厅,JK 政经人「饭堂」地位也日渐式微啦。。新 JK 2024 年开张后,爸爸曾来「怀旧」一番,说最好还是老菜式 pickled herring、chicken a la King、chicken madras、baked Alaska;然而新 JK menu (trimmed down 些少了)也有新菜式,而晚餐比午餐 menu 更丰富;不过侍酒,by the glass 餐厅比较吝啬,斟得太少啦 🙄。重开的 JK 已经不是原来的老板,问题来了,现今在毕打行的 JK 是传承延续了旧 JK,还是用了 JK 的名字的新餐厅而已?这既是类比历史学「道统」问题,也是大集团把昔日逝去的品牌「重生」是否有名无实的疑问,不过不要搞到学术讨论啦 🥱,还是继续食评。/ Dining Room 时代演变,新 dinning room 室内设计仍然是 wood-panelled walls,唯氛围已经富时代感,工整而漂亮,而且很 posh,更有 open kitchen 。JK 对爸爸来说是一家「怀旧」餐厅(其实就 dining room 来说没有甚么「旧」可以「怀」啦🫤),对小妹嘛,是全新的一家餐厅。新 JK 不但 dining room,客户群都不再是之前的模样,时代变了,似乎难重返人所怀缅的黄金岁月了。今次来午餐,吃一个 alcohol-free full lunch。/ Bread****那旧式一盘焗出来的,然后 cut 开一个个的面包,很新鲜软熟富有弹性,是好吃的。/ Good Life | Lyre’s Dry London Spirit | lime | elderflower | cucumber | mint | soda ****既然旧 JK 代表旧时美好岁月,适逢有 mocktail 叫 Good Life,就点一杯点缀下这个食评的主题吧。/ Pickled Chinese Onion****这个桌上的醋渍开胃伴菜是旧 JK 的特色,虽然小妹怕醋酸,但是荞头那种香味和适合的酸度,小妹还是要吃一两颗呢。/ House Cured Salmon Gravlax | roasted beets | honey mustard | dill****Salmon gravlax 头盘质素是高的,其实很难说这里的好还是 Mandarin Grill 的好(Mandarin Grill 除了 smoked salmon,也有 salmon gravlax 的,不过要 a la carte 点),所以这样的经典做法(gravlax 并不复杂只几样腌料,最重要的是用莳萝 [ dill ] 了),要莳萝腌三文鱼惊为天人,超越对手很多近乎不可能。JK 这个头盘已经是高分之作啦。/ Chicken A La King | poached with sweet peppers | sherry sauce | steamed rice因为爸爸很喜欢 Chicken a la King,小妹小时候他会自己做,常常吃到。当然是 cheat version 啦。不会花时间做 roux 煮白汁架啦,而是用罐头忌廉蘑菇汤沟忌廉鸡汤代替 🫣,其实都几好味道 😆。****他又话以前城中最好的 chicken a la king 就是 JK,后来 SEVVA(都已经结业了)加入竞争。后者还用 Bresse chicken 去做,十分矜贵,但调味太咸,不见得比 JK 的好。两家「鸡皇饭」都没有吃过 🙄,小妹无从评价。新 JK 的「鸡皇饭」呢,诚然是认真制作吧。白汁香滑,口感如丝没有 lumpy,调味也精准,鸡肉嫩滑入味,白汁鸡肉加商 sweet pepper 的香中带点草青和甜味,不知是否加入 sherry,和谐之味,十分好吃。****米饭也煮得很好,软硬适中,也有米香。/ Sticky Toffee Date Pudding | crème fraîche ice cream | caramel sauce****还是有英伦的风味,厚重而浓郁,底蕴洋溢悠长又淡淡干果之香,不错呢。/ Coffee ****Pro coffee machine 挤出来的咖啡,不能期望会令人惊艳,只是甜品总要点苦涩去衬托一下嘅。/ 总结 —— 闲说美好生活 JK 代表上一代人在香港黄金岁月的美好生活,岁月如飞,人与事的变迁,就是旧 JK 晚期早已不是政经人士的午餐地方,只是一家老牌餐厅,新餐厅的出现,用同样名字重开,能否继往开来,还是未知之数。就一家全新英国派餐厅去评价,JK 是很不错喔,食物质素高, service 及格以上,所有侍应都 professional,只是跟所有饮食集团营运的餐厅一样,有板有眼,有规有矩给员工跟随之余,就是服务上缺乏些真诚,服务稍稍 impersonal ,有点 pale 了。反而那位外国人经理不时过来闲谈一下,展现一点 personal touch,小妹于是不吝啬,给予服务 5 ⭐️ 呢。说说小妹的感受(意见), JK 的用餐体验和食物很好,小妹只是想:要餐厅 sustainable,须令客人回头,JK 断不能永远 sell 昔日光辉,如果人们试一次旧日情怀就算(而且上面也说过,新 dining room 还有甚么旧可以怀)不再留恋,餐厅经营要走一条艰难的路呢。也许美好生活 the Good Life 如一首旧歌所唱 😌Well,Just wake up,Kiss the good life Goodbye. 就此 wish the new JK Godspeed 吧。

重生餐厅的意义,本来应该比之前进步,小人寄予厚望,然而一试之后,竟是强差人意。从洋葱汤的外貌,小人绝对觉得似蘑菇汤多过是洋葱汤!表面的脆层应脆不脆,不伦不类,味淡如水,烯到飞起,根本做不出洋葱汤应有的香浓!猪肉冻乃西餐常见的头盘,以及另一道鸡肉沙律,这两道虽然似是有板有眼,属正常水平,然而就找不到任何突出之处,尚可接受。主菜羊扒更加吊诡,不知何解食落羊无羊味,似吃著牛腩,还要是煮得过腍那一款!配菜又炒得不够香,完全不称职。甜品乃鬼佬炖蛋,蛋亦算绵滑,没有煮到过头。表层的焦糖卜卜脆,一滑一脆,互相挥影,只是食完极度的漏。以为店子搬迁之后会有新作为,可惜得来的却是一片迷惘。

事缘老妈子👵🏻生日,打算揾间怀旧西餐厅庆祝,上网见Jimmy’s Kitchen喺香港有超过80年历史,就抱住试一试嘅心态黎食。总结:推介指数:3.5/5👉🏻地点方便,地铁站一出,转弯就到。👉🏻环境舒适,够大,气氛舒服。👉🏻侍应服务态度专业。由于我地系单点,见到我地选择困难个样都有主动上前协助,亦都有留意整个course够唔够食,提醒会唔会点得太多/太少。每一次上菜都有同我哋介绍菜式,影蛋糕相环节都有主动帮我哋执靓张枱。虽然呢啲系好基本嘅服务态度,但今时今日能够喺香港做到嘅餐厅真系唔多,所以都要一赞👍🏻👉🏻Dinner人均800蚊,老实讲呢个价位喺有好多选择。如果对怀旧菜/西式野情有独钟嘅朋友可以一试。如果纯粹好似我咁抱住咩都试吓嘅心态,可能食lunch个性价比就会高啲🫶🏻🤍
